The 2021 Lake Fork Challenge is a GO!

We are taking a stand against virus-driven isolation and moving forward with our critical mission. We’ve had enough delays and it’s time we do what we do best, raising scholarship funds for the Texas military families that earned for all of us the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It’s time we get out and enjoy those freedoms while giving to a great cause. We cannot let this virus issue control our lives forever.

The importance of everyone’s health and safety still prevails, however, as we look at utilizing all possible precautions for the “Celebration of Patriotism” portion of the event.

The 3 sporting challenge events are all enjoyed in the great Texas outdoors and will not change significantly from previous years. As in the past, we will have an open-air, yet covered, venue on Friday evening. But for your safety and convenience, as well as encouraging social distancing, we will be making a few logistical adjustments.

We are very excited this year that we will be having 2 keynote speakers. On Friday evening US Marine Sergeant and Iranian Hostage, Rocky Sickmann will be joining us as our Keynote speaker, and once again Lt. Col. Allen West will be here as our speaker during Saturday’s closing ceremonies. We will still have plenty of opportunities for everyone to participate in the on-site raffle, and this year we will be featuring a virtual auction (will advise with further details) for your convenience and safety. What will also change: bigger tent, more space between tables as well as fewer seats per table, individual food service, and other precautions, all of which will be made in a way that least interferes with the fun we all have had in past events.

For those teams last year who have already committed to participate, it is important that you confirm your team members–we will be asking for their names and emails very soon. For other individuals, or teams, contact us as soon as possible to secure your spot in this outdoor party, as there are only a few remaining spots available.

The Challenge will again be a two-day event. The first day, Friday, April 9th, includes a modified 3-gun shooting challenge at the Winnsboro Gun Club, a golf practice round on the Links at Land’s End, and /or an open day of fishing to find the Lunkers that made Lake Fork famous. Then sit back and relax for our signature evening event entitled “Celebration of Patriotism.” Following on Saturday, April 10th, contestants will compete in the golf and fishing portions of the challenge, after which the overall winners will be recognized at an awards reception.

We thank all of our medal and team sponsors for their continued pledge of support to the Lake Fork Challenge and appreciate your patience as we work through these difficult times. Our decision is to plant our flag and hold our ground when these families of our American military need help the most.

We look forward to your standing with us as we, yet again, answer our “Call to Duty!”
